PRESS RELEASE

20 November 2009

Standards published by BSI, the global standards, certification and assessment provider, are now available from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), as well as from BSI’s own online shop. For the convenience of U.S. stakeholders, the complete collection of BSI standards has been made available for purchase and download from the Ansi webstore, alongside U.S. and other national, regional, or international standards.

Stuart V Radcliffe, BSI Vice President Business Development, said: “Leveraging the ANSI brand will allow BSI to reach more companies and individuals in the U.S.. BSI content will provide companies interested in placing goods and services into the European Union with a gateway for compliance with the New Approach Directives.”

Comprised of nearly 30,000 documents, the BSI body of standards addresses a wide range of topics critical to every industry, from agriculture to transport systems. The collection also includes all the standards developed by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) as adopted by the British Standards Institution.

George Gulla, ANSI Vice President of Publications, said: “ANSI is pleased to partner with BSI to offer these internationally recognized standards to our customers. This comprehensive set of documents is a valuable addition to the approximately 200,000 standards offered on the Institute’s webstore.”
